Šiellajohka-Balip Čazajávri

We woke up fairly early and started walking. By 9 AM we had breakfast at the edge of Gárddenvárri. Not long after we had started walking again, we stopped for a toilet break. We then met another Gröna Bandare - Mats Fredlund. We stopped and talked for a while, then when we got going again, he joined us. We then walked with him all the way to the Alesjaure huts. Taking turns talking, which made the time pass really quickly. At one point, Kim and Lukas passed two poncho-covered women, said hi and walked on. Kim had a thought that, "what if it was Katrin and Elva?" but didn't think further of it. Until she looked back and saw that Mats had stopped to talk with them. We then made our way back to the group and introduced ourselves, and started talking about what we had experienced so far. We asked them about how the weather had been and which route they had taken, and they asked us about the off-road section north of Torneträsk. We also talked a little bit gear and that Lukas had aaaalmost met them already in Grövelsjön the day they started, since he was there just hours before.

We then parted ways and kept walking. At the boat stop on Alisjávri there was a little shelter, where we stayed for lunch break. Here we met two Netherlanders. One who was tired of the bad weather and wanted to get back home, and one who was planning to go to Hemavan along Kungsleden.

After lunch we continued again, talking all the time. At one point we had to cross a creek, and Viktor slipped and his pants got all wet.

The weather was tricky all day, with sun and rain at the same time, most of the time.

In Alesjaure we took another toilet break and waved goodbye to Mats who was going south across the Tjäktja pass. We instead went southeast, towards Vistas. It felt nice being off the "highway" again, and only met a small family before putting up our tents just before Balip Čazajávri.
