GB Day 52:

Rörvattsbodarna - Jänsmässholmen

Today we woke up to very humid tents again... Kim was tired, so Lukas went up and started drying the tent and preparing breakfast. After breakfast we got going. It started with a few more km of dirt road until we started to walk on a trail. At some parts the trail was wet and muddy, with no footbridges, but other parts of the trail were quite pretty, following Ansättån and the canyon. Along the way we met a man removing trees from the trail - apparently it was in preparation for the hunting season. At the little hut along the way, some 9 km from Rörvattsbodarna, we stopped to have a little break and eat a tiiiiny amount of snacks - since we had to save it now that we had so little. As we continued, Kim couldn't keep up with Andreas and Izo's pace, so we ended up walking yo-yo with them, only really catching up when they stopped to wait for us.

At Ansätten, we found a fäbod, and the landscape here was beautiful. We both said that we could live in a place like this! 😍

After the fäbod we soon left the trail we were walking on (Ansättåleden we think?) for another trail. This one was even better than the last one, walking on ridges in the birch forest, in between the bogs. In some places it even had footbridges! All while being pretty in the summer sun.

Suddenly, we almost walked on a road, and not much later, saw some people we recognised. It was Helena and Jonas of course. We sat together and talked for a while, before walking together the last bit, talking all the way. Suddenly, out of nowhere, came an open area with a big red house. We had reached the hotel!

At the hotel we took a shower, sat in the sauna for a little bit and then headed off to have dinner at 16:30. We all ate our lasagna in just a few minutes - the very best lasagna we'd ever had, before kindly asking if we could have another portion of food. Which we could! Made all of us happy. And full.

It was especially nice since we'd barely eaten anything all day and were super hungry! Luckily we also found a box of "leftovers" at the hotel, were we found 4 packs of freeze-dried food. Now we would make it to Elise!

At the hotel we also got to play around with a super cute puppy, a Samojed, the same breed as Izo! Such a cute little fluff!
