GB Day 62:

Östra Helagsskaftet - North of Ösjövålen

Via Fältjägarstugan, Klinken

Today the weather continued quite like it had the day before. Windy and "spray rain" some now and then. But sometimes we could actually see a hint of the sun as well. Except for being muddy, the terrain was easy to walk on all the way to Fältjägarstugan.

It's funny, but we (or rather Kim) hadn't researched this part of Gröna Bandet properly, so Kim "found out" that Fältjägarstugan existed like a day or two ago. We then met some people that had stayed at Fältjägarstugan, and thought it a little bit weird since most people don't stop by a shelter or hut to sleep, but rather STF cabins. As we got closer we saw that the hut was really big, and debated whether it was a STF cabin or not. We thought that maybe it could've been one without a host. But it was indeed a cabin with a host!

It had a really nice host, and we ate, warmed and dried up, relaxed, enjoyed using the Internet and even got some homemade /fröknäcke/ from the cabin host. After an hour, Helena and Jonas showed up again, so we spent some time with them inside too. After 1,5 hour in there, they were done, and got going again. We joked about how we would catch up to them eventually anyway. Half an hour later, we were done too, and just as we were about to leave said hi to another group that came into the cabin.

The rest of the hike was pretty much the same as before, but with more sun and less rain, which was nice.

When we passed the next hut, we saw at a distance Helena and Jonas getting out to continue hiking. But we didn't really catch up. Kim's foot had started hurting and did so more or less every second step. Slowly we made progress, and finally reached Klinken. An open grassy area that had probably been a /fäbod/ once. We didn't have time to read the signs so we don't actually know. In Klinken there was a picnic table where Helena and Jonas had started making dinner together with another couple that was there. So we decided to sit done and have our dinner there too. The other couple that were there had pancakes with them, and were even nice enough to give Kim one 😍

Helena and Jonas then got going to find a tent spot a little further away. There were great tent spots here in Klinken, but we all wanted to get a little further today, to have a shorter distance to go tomorrow. So they set off, and promised to find us a tent spot too so we could camp together.

We finished our dinner, packed our bags and then got going after Helena and Jonas. We walked about 2.5 km from Klinken before pitching our tents. By now the sun had gone down and it was quickly getting darker.
