NPL Day 44 & GB Day 20

Day 44: Saturday 30 July 2023

Argaladhytta - Lønsstua via Trygvebu

This morning we talked to the tilsyn, Torbjørn, again. It was very nice so we didn't start until quite late. We hiked towards Trygvebu, in a pleasant and fairly easy terrain. Halfway there we met Aline, who is hiking the E1. This year only for three weeks, until Sulitjelma, but last year all the way here from Lübeck. After half an hour we continued, Kim was really talkative today and probably talked both Aline and Lukas' ears off!

In Trygvebu we had breakfast outside. It was very warm weather today, even when it was cloudy we sweated like crazy. Before leaving we wrote in the Hyttebok, since we forgot in the previous one.

Then we continued on the road, passed some houses with fäbod-feeling, and we said to ourselves that we need this kind of place for ourselves in the future.

We kept following the y road, and it got smaller and smaller until it eventually was just an overgrown path. About halfway through, we came to some sections where the road had fallen down into the water. It was not a problem for us, and still faster than the 5 km detour of going past Graddis, but it was still hard.

When we were finally on some kind of a road again, we met Kjetil who hikes Norge på langs over two years. We talked a bit about the trail - he was almost only hiking in Norway, and he also taught us a bit more about one of the Garmin Inreach functions.

After crossing the camping area in Junkerdal we continued straight ahead, up the ascent. It was tough, but soon done and we were at the top. Here the mountains around us were really cool, and the terrain quite good. But the trail up there still felt very long.

Finally it started going down. We crossed the E6, found a geocache and went to check out Lønsstua. Lukas wanted to stay there. Kim wasn't sure, but there were no good tent spots so she gave in. Also, when Kim said there was a queen size bed that sealed the deal.

In the evening we also met “Topphønene”, a group of seven women who are hiking Norge på langs but divided over several years, both on foot and on ski. Nice concept!
