Day 66: Monday 21 August 2023

Bellingstua-Ferslia

We always struggle to get going early when we stay inside. Today was no different, but finally we got going.

We started the 5 km road walk with dry shoes and our socks where dry and crispy. The temperature was nice but it looked like it would rain today. We also had to cross another big bog which were also uphill and it was quite exhausting. We saw some sheep and reindeer but not much else happened today.

When we where getting closer to Ferslia, our friend Elise suddenly called. She saw that we only where two hours away from her hometown (Lukas had sent her a picture of a road sign). She wanted to visit us but it was tricky. We weren't going to stay to have a rest day tomorrow as we had first planned. Actually we were going really far tomorrow and would therefore arrive to our destination very late. So it would be tricky for her to come, especially in the middle of the week. Later we also called our friend Elin to congrat her on her birthday 🥳

Kim talked to Elin all the way to the hut and Lukas walked a bit ahead. On our way there we saw more sheep, and as we came to the hut itself there were some cows standing in the middle of the road outside the hut. But the hut was fenced in so it was fine.

It was a really beautiful hut with moss and grass and the roof.

Here we had heard that you could order pizza from Best Meråker. Same with Bjørneggen. But when we called to ask, they said that you have to order long beforehand, at least a day, maybe a few days... So that sucked a bit, and in a way we felt tricked and disappointed since we had seen someone else hiking Norge på langs on their Facebook page even! And the text said something along the lines of "When people who hikes Norge på langs ask for pizza, soda and candy, we took the car and drove to Ferslia". Well, apparently only for some.

But we quickly recovered from that disappointment. Lukas made a fire in the drying room and Kim found a bag of pancake mix in the matbua - yay! So Kim made pancakes for herself while Lukas had a box of "Sodd". Lukas also talked to our friend Johannes that evening and Kim talked to her mum.
