NPL Day 7: Friday 23 June 2023

Woke up around 8:30 to eat some breakfast. It was a simple hotel breakfast, maybe not actually worth the cost, but it felt nice to be able to eat as much as we wanted. Then Lukas went back to the cabin and packed his bag. Kim finished writing, uploading pictures and scheduling blogs posts before also packing her bags. Then we checked out and walked to the store to resupply and finnish what was left of the blog posts etc. It was really interesting trying to resupply food for 8 days in such a small store - but it was possible! This time we would not have too little 😊

Before we left we bought a hamburger and sausages to eat and then got going.

Then some road walking again with a podcast.

It was warm but a little windy. When we hit the trail we took a short break, we wanted to take a longer one but there were too many mosquitoes and blackflies.

Soon we reached some boggy areas, and Kim said that she didn't want wet socks - so maybe we should just go barefoot to keep the socks clean and dry? And then to her surprise Lukas began to take off his shoes!

So we ended up walking barefoot for more than 3 km until we decided to camp. It was actually really pleasant to walk barefoot here.

When we arrived at a beautiful tiny cape by a lake, we put up the tent and took a swim. This time not only Lukas, but also KIM went for a swim! Unbelievable! Then she quickly got up again, dried herself and hid in the tent from all the insects.
