NPL Day 80
Day 80: Monday 4 September 2023
Olsberg-west of Horøsta via Tylldalen, Alvdal
Today we woke up to breakfast that was already prepared!? So nice 😍
We stayed until eleven since it was so nice at Dagne's place - it felt hard to leave!
But finally we had to go. First downhill until we reached Tylldalen, then up over the mountain. First we followed a road, but then we followed a wet path that led us to a hut at the top of the mountain. Here some sheep were hanging around, most of them were actually hanging out UNDER the building 😂
Lukas tried to befriend some sheep again, and this time, one of them actually sniffed on his hand.
The sun was shining and it was really nice to be hiking. We followed the wet path a little longer until we came down to a road. By the side of some water and a bridge, we sat down and took off our shoes and just enjoyed the moment.
Then we followed the road down to Alvdal. Seeing Alvdal was crazy. The biggest city so far on our hike - cars, people and moving things all over the place.
We took some geocaches and passed Aukrust Centret and the big moon rocket!? It looked closed, and we were really hungry so we continued to Frich's Hotel og Spiseri where we are some food. It wasn't super nice, but we were satisfied.
Then we went to the supermarket to resupply for the upcoming days until Otta. Our plan for the rest of the day was just to walk as long as there was daylight.
After a while we left the asphalt road, and started to follow a dirt road. Before dawn we saw two people standing on the road with binoculars. As we came closer, the man asked us if we wanted to take a look. We had a look, and saw a moose/elk cow, then talked to the couple for some time.
Dusk was setting and we had to hurry up. When we saw a potential tent spot by the side of the road, we took it immediately so we could pitch our tent while we could still see.
