TA Day 33: Monday 20 January 2025

A Frame Hut - Glenrock Stream

We had such a slow and nice evening this morning, but we knew we had plenty of time - we didn't need to be at the carpark until 16:00 when our shuttle would come, and the way there was supposed to be easy too.

After some hours we started to leave. Sam left first of everyone because she wanted to try to hitch all the way to Lake Tekapo and get her car back from there, and take it to Methven.

Then Kim left, but was struggling a lot with the heat and lack of food. For today we only had 4 nut bars for the both of us. It didn't take long until Rose, then Barry and lastly Lukas caught up with Kim and passed her. She kept going slow, and told Lukas that he didn't need to walk with her today. So he walked with Barry all the way to the end of the trail. It took 1,5 hours before Kim showed up. She was not feeling good at all, very sad, tired and just had a tough day in general. But she felt better after sitting in the grass for some time, waiting for the shuttle in the shade with Rose, Barry and Lukas.

Suddenly, two people showed up from nowhere - it was Caleb and Jan! After some more waiting, it was finally 16:00 and the shuttle arrived. Time to go to Methven!

We were all so excited, but had some different plans. We went straight to Thai Chilli to have Thai buffet. Caleb and Rose soon joined. We finished around 3 plates each (and some small bowls) before we had to give up because we were so full.

Just as we were leaving, Jan came to have a buffet too. But we said goodbye, checked into our room and we had a nice evening at the hotel. Kim tried the bath tub and was very happy and satisfied.
