TS Day 80

Svarttjärnen - Skallskog

Via Jobsarbo spring, Klockarberg

Today I had a long slow morning in the tent, journaling and planning. When I planned I saw that by taking another route than Via Suecia, and taking Siljansleden (mainly) from Jobsarbo, I would walk one day faster than I'd first planned. After some coordination with my mum and with Lukas, I think we have solved it so we can all meet this week! I'm really looking forward to that.

I started super late today, filled a bottle of water by the water and then got going. I think this is probably one of the slowest days ever. It felt like I was barely going forward.

While walking I met a man working in the forest, he was surprised I was going all the way to Skallskog today. He was also surprised that I walked alone, and that I wasn't afraid, and carrying a pepper spray!

Later in the evening, in Klockarberg, I finally took a short break on a stone. A man passed whom I said hello to, and another man passed me twice on an ATV. "It's not Friday yet!" he joked, apparently, I was sitting on the "Friday hill".

Not much more of interest happened today. My body was protesting today as well - same issues as yesterday. And the deer flies were insanely annoying. I didn't want to stop to pee or take a break because then they would come crawling. I had my mosquito net - which mostly helped, but not always. Some of them managed to show up on the inside of the net anyway!

When the sun started to set, I was getting pretty stressed out by not finding a decent tent spot. So I steered away from my path to cross a creek, where I filled three water bottles - enough for all meals, and also some body cleaning. I was of course attacked by deer flies again as I filtered water...

Then I followed the dirt road almost all the way to the main road. Then I headed into the forest again, towards Skallskog. I found a property here with a grass lawn. No one was home, so I couldn't ask for permission, but hoped it would be okay for me to stay the night, and then put up my tent. A hella lot better spot than yesterday.

After getting completely ready this time, I called Lukas, and then it was time to go to bed. Mentally preparing for the upcoming days with a looooot of rain.
