Then rest day

Friday 1 October 2021 - Saturday 2 October 2021

Friday morning it was time for mum, Uma and me to get going again. My feet were super sore from all the road walking yesterday, but I knew I just needed to push for one more day, then I'd have a rest day.

Today I tried to start with the poncho on right away, since it was going to be raining all day, and was already raining when we started.

At first we talked some now and then, and the rain wasn't too bad on us. But gradually it got worse.

My feet started hurting more, the poncho didn't help much, my hands were wet and cold and we didn't have too many things to talk about. After what felt like an eternity, we left Björsjö and headed onto a dirt road. It had just been 17 km but I had no idea how I would make it for another 16.

But after some km we found a tiny camping where we borrowed some benches to sit down, and also used the privy. We sat there shivering, and I had a Billys and my mum ate a sandwhich.

When we kept going again, it felt like the dirt road would never end. The rain came and went, and my rain pants that had been sticking to my knees because they were soaked through, started to dry up a bit. My feet got ever worse though, but I tried my best to trudge onwards. When we had 7 km left or so, dad passed us in his car, and Uma got completely crazy again, jumping, barking and pulling on the leash for over a km!

Another thing that happened after this, was that Uma smelled something, and both my mum and I had a limited view under our rain jackets and ponchos and were focused on Uma, so we only saw her. Then suddenly, I glanced something grey in the corner of my vision, and a hare ran past me maybe one meter from me or so! Straight past Uma and everything, into the forest and then it was gone. So fast mum didn't see it at all, and barely Uma either.

That was probably the most interesting thing happening during today's hike.

We then got kinda lost while trying to find our accommodation. Apparently there was 3(?) different ones in the area!

Then, when we arrived, my dad had already checked in, but my mum and I met another person who also worked at the place. There had been some misunderstandings that I tried my best to clear, even though I had nothing to do with any of them, then I could finally go inside and get out of my wet clothes!

Soon after, Lukas arrived, so I showered and put on some clean clothes he had brought, and then we handed over my clothes for washing. Oh, and my mum went back home with Uma.

In the evening, Lukas, my dad and I had tacos and then went to bed fairly early. All of us being super tired!

On Saturday we had a super cozy morning. Lukas made breakfast and we all sat and ate for a long time, I had breakfast maybe 3 or 4 times this morning.

At one point, Lukas disappeared and came back... With a dog. Bimbo!? It took a few moments before realisation kicked in, if Bimbo was here it meant either Stig and Lotta (Lukas' mum) or Bimbo's owner - Stig's daughter Ida was here. The first the more likely, but I walked over to the stairs to see what was going on. And in through the door came Lotta, Stig and Betty - Stig's granddaughter. Happy and totally taken by surprise as Lukas had planned all of this in secret, I hugged them hello. We then sat by the table, talking, for a few hours. Really nice! Betty was a bit shy at first but then warmed up to us, and we talked to her and played with her a bit.

Then they had to head back home, and Lukas and Patrik decided to go for a walk while I did some blogging. When they got back we had some ice cream that they had bought in the reception, played cards and ate snacks. Later in the evening we had pizza, and I also had some delicious pasta that Stig had brought with him! Super nice.
