TS Day 96
TS Day 96
Björklången shelter - Skogaryd
Via Mölltorp
Wednesday 13 October 2021
Today I woke up in the middle of the night. Apparently I had fallen asleep using my phone again. Around 4 AM I woke up and couldn't sleep because I was really cold, so when my alarm rang I was too tired and cold to get up and eventually I fell asleep again.
Suddenly I woke up to the sun and realised I had slept in. I got ready fairly quickly and got going. The fog was dancing across the lake and there was frost on the inside of my outer tent. My second frost night!
Today as I left the lake, I didn't meet any soldiers. After a while, I came to an area used by the military for training sky diving. No training today though.
The air was fresh and crisp, and I froze a lot when I wasn't walking directly in the sun. I took a break by an open grass area and enjoyed the sun for while. Next up I reached Forsvik, an old industrial town. In the morning sun the place looked just magical, and I had a nice time reading on all the signs about the houses, people and the history of the place!
As I continued towards Mölltorp I passed by Vaberget. The trail Västra Vätternleden actually goes across this small mountain, but I decided to follow the road around it instead. I wanted to get to Mölltorp soon so I could visit the supermarket and have pizza! Which I did. Unfortunately though, the pizzeria was really tiny and didn't have tables indoors, just outdoors. I was hoping I could have charged my phone there but apparently I wasn't so lucky. At least it wasn't raining, and I still had battery in my Powerbank, so sitting outside was actually rather nice. I talked to Lukas over Messenger as well, and by the time I was ready to eat my pizza after a few minutes, it had already gotten cold! But it was really tasty anyway.
When I finished my pizza I had just a few km left until I reached Monalie and Lars' place in Skogaryd. They are Trail Angels on Via Suecia, so after contacting them I got to stay at their place! Monalie and I had a long conversation as I got there and I learned that seeing soldiers in this area is super common because Karlsborg is a "military town". I was then shown the place where I could sleep, and here I packed up my stuff and did some journaling. I also talked to Lukas again. A while later, Lars came home so in the evening I came over to them again and we talked all three of us for quite some time. When being out for this long, just meeting people, talking to people and getting to sleep under a roof and charge your electronics is gold.
