European Road Trip Day 11

Woke up quite early in the morning, and the plan was to do the Via Ferrata, but we really didn't feel it when we woke up. Instead we slept in for 2,5 hours. Because we were surrounded by mountains we weren't boiled to death in the morning, and were shaded quite long so we just took the chance and enjoyed the moment. We also had a cozy breakfast before taking out our chairs down to the water where we then spent most of the day just chilling. Lukas of course got into the water twice, while Kim was fine just dipping her feet in the ice cold water.

In the afternoon we made our way further north and then northwest, through the Dolomites. Along the way there was a Panorama viewpoint over Tre Cime/Drei Zinnen where we stopped. Here, Kim wanted to take a geocache which at first seemed quite easy, but because of all the muggles it was actually quite difficult. She tried to be descreet, but getting to the spot without anyone seeing was hard, and while she was there, a dog started growling at her which drew unnecessary attention to her. Not just that, but the cache also made some sounds, so while she was logging it, a muggle came to ask her what she was doing and if she was working at the place or something. She tried to explain geocaching, but of course he didn't understand English. She also tried explaining (in English, because her brain could suddenly not remember a single word Italian or German) that it was just a game. Finally, the guy moved on and she could finish logging it and get back to the car. Probably one of the hardest (mentality-wise) caches she has taken so far.

After this we drove a little further, into a village in the mountains. Here we had found a place that served pizza. It was a super cozy place named Di Hitte. We had pizza here, as well as beer, elderberry juice, coffee and an ice chocolate drink.

Then we just kept going. Drove and drove until we found a nice cozy place up in the mountains where we could park for the night. It was a parking spot that led to some hiking and biking trails nearby, with an amazing view and a fantastic sunset.
