NPL Day 45 & GB Day 21

Day 45: Sunday 31 July 2023

Lønsstua-Bolnastua via Polarsirkelsenteret, Bolna stasjon

So nice to sleep in a wide bed tonight.

We started the day by taking some geocaches around Saltfjellet Hotell before starting walking.

After 5km we stopped by a footbridge over the river Lønselva to eat breakfast. Kim also found a geocache.

Then we continued to walk on E6 with a lot of caravans that had no respect/interest in sharing the road....

We took some breaks along the road and finally after 16 km we reached the old dirt road - "the old E6", and a small local rain cloud went over us. But after a while the sun returned and the rain dried.

We crossed the arctic circle and walked down to Polarsirkelsenteret where they serve food and coffee ☕ Here we ate amazing food, had fika and soft ice cream. Before leaving Kim also went around the area to find some geocaches.

We left the place just before eight in the evening, with 10 km left to Bolnastua. Not a big problem but Lukas was tired and didn't want to shift our sleep cycle too much... But the last 10 km was easy to walk and it was nice to listen to podcasts.

Ended up sleeping in the hut again because there were no good tent spots and we were tired. On our way there we also managed a detour to Bolna train station because we didn't look too closely on the map st first. Woops 🤷🏼‍♀️
