NPL Day 88

Day 88: Tuesday 12 September 2023

Lusæter-Nedre Sjodalsvatnet via Leirflaten

The hut and location was so much prettier in daylight. A really cozy place!

Lukas took pictures on the hut with the drone before we left.

We didn't walk very far before we had to jump on small grass spots to try to stay dry... But in one place Kim struggled to take a step and she ended up losing her balance and falling backwards in the mud, and her feet got wet... 😂

We continued along and passed a farm that had a small house built for their ducks on a mini-island. Really cute. Then we passed some Highland cows! Sooo pretty! But they didn't want to come to us and say hello. They totally ignored us.

The weather was nice today but out on the main road there were a lot of cars. At one point we had to pass some road work which was a little bit tricky but it worked out fine.

After that we found a rest spot along the road with some tables where we made dinner. We wanted to reach Jotunheimen Caravan Camp because that was about how far we would be able to walk while we still had daylight. On their website it said they were open all year, but they didn't have a booking page, you had to call or email to book.

Kim sent an email in the morning and during the day Lukas tried to call them many times, but they didn't answer.

We ended up walking to the camping to check it out, but it was closed. So we made our way to the other side of the road, where we found a good tent spot near the lake.

Then, we got an answer on the email - they were closed on weekdays but open on weekends. Oh well...
