GB Day 59:

Via Undersåker

Today has just generally been slow... It started with Kim being super tired this morning since we were up late, and then, it took really long time for her to get ready, while at the same time Lukas managed to clean the AirBnB and all.

Then we got going, and went down the hill to find there was an Ica there. So we went inside and tried to find ice tea powder, but when we didn't, we bought ice cream instead. We then went over to Åre chocolate factory (Åre chokladfabrik), but Kim just had a look inside, and then changed her mind so we continued down the road, eating ice cream while walking. Getting to Undersåker took a while, and it felt very heavy today for Kim. We did a lot of short stops, and also stopped to talk to some cows again. We also passed the designed electricity pole.

In Undersåker we took a geocache and then went to Ica, and bought a looot of food. We also found ice tea powder here! The staff then also suggested a lunch spot for us, and here we had a loooong lunch break. We ate a little bit of all the food we had bought, and packed the rest for later, so now our bags were really heavy. We were also really tired. Lukas fell asleep there for a while, and Kim wanted to, but stayed awake to look at the coming section and also contact Grövelsjön to ask a few things. When we finally got going it was quite late, and it was very warm, yet cloudy. We went to the FTI station in Undersåker to recycle our trash and also took a cool geocache that Lukas climbed a tree for. We then continued the road walking. This time with podcasts in our ears for the upcoming 15 km. It made it somewhat better.

Finally, we reached Sjöändan and our planned stop for the day. There wasn't really any tent spots here, but water and a shelter. We decided to try to sleep on the beds of the shelter, but they were quite narrow, so we didn't know whether we would end up on the ground or not... We ate some more in the twilight, and then fell asleep to the sound of mosquitoes.

Oh, and the socks that we bought (and got, from Falke), Kim had tried the previous days, but so far wasn't too impressed with. It felt like having wet towels on the feet, and unfortunately, instead of smelling like wet bogs like they normally do, they just smelled like smelly feet. Kim hopes it's just a coincidence, and that it will get better eventually...
