Let's talk local! 🌍🌱

By now I suppose you already know the importance of buying and supporting local, especially now during the pandemic since a lot of small stores and services (and big ones too) have had to close down.

When we realised we needed to buy oats for our Gröna Bandet-hike, Kim immediately thought about Skafferiet in Västerås since it's one of her favourite stores. There you can buy organic products that aren't packaged, and you can bring your own containers to fill with whatever you need. It's even possible to mix different products in one container, making it easy to prepare your own müsli, for instance.

Since we were going there anyway to buy other products, we thought of doing the same with the oats. Until we realised THIRTEEN kg oats would required quite a lot of containers that we definitely didn't have. Then the idea hit us that we could, just like we had with snacks, buy in bulk! And maybe we could even do so through Skafferiet? We reached out and it wasn't a problem, in fact, as she herself put it - it was easier and more convenient for her too. So we bought an entire bag of 20 kg oats! No extra driving for us, we bought organic, we supported local and the oats were produced (fairly) close to home. Win-win!
