NPL Day 108

Day 108: Monday 2 October 2023

Fosstjønn-Leirvika via Ljosland, Kyrkjebygda/Åseral

As always, we were tired and slow this morning. But wow, what a beautiful day it was. And when we started the day we hiked on a dirt road with no traffic. We were quite happy and cheerful about that. No wind, no clouds and quiet 😍

After 11 km, the dirt road turned into a regular asphalt road, and not long after, we reached Ljosland. Unfortunately since it was Monday, the restaurant was closed. Lukas was really disappointed about that since he was hyped about eating thai food. But in the same spot they had a small store that was a self-service store. They didn’t have so many great things for hikers, but some. So we bought snacks and food there, took a long break and let the tent dry in the sun. There was also a toilet that we could use which was really needed.

Then it was time to continue. We had a long way to go today. But what was nice was that we weren’t on the slippery windy mountain anymore, so we were really fast! We had a good rythm/habit and walked 5 km, then took a break, walked 5 km more and took a break etc… All the way until we reached the next store 😂👌 Here we ate dinner outside the store and charged phones and powerbanks inside in the meantime. We even had some carrot cake as dessert!

Then we kept going, in darkness once again. We hiked about 3 km until we found a half-decent camp spot which we picked, just by the side of the road.
