NPL Day 17

NPL Day 17: Monday 3 July 2023

Čunovuohppi-North of Rivkkoš

Today we woke up to the sun. Not as warm as other days have been, but still. We started to walk the first bit of Nordkalottruta and had a lot of blackflies and not much wind. We crossed the road and walked for some time before eating breakfast with the insects. We also listened to some podcasts until breakfast.

Kim was in much annoying pain today - ovulation pain (needed paracetamol for that), problems with hip, foot, sore throat and tongue. Not fun! The sore throat has been an issue since second week of June with a break only for a few days. It never seems to fade away...

Otherwise not much happened today. Lukas managed to scare a jaeger who attacked us, we had beautiful views during dinner at the top cairn, as you may have guessed. When we continued we walked for just 2 km and then set up camp with a thousand blackflies.
