TA Day 41

TA Day 41: Tuesday 28 January 2025

2 km west of Boundary Stream - Boyle Village (Boyle River Outdoor Education)

Boyle was calling for us this morning! We knew our resupply box waited for us there (with new clothes for Kim!), and that we could buy pizza, have a nice shower and do some well-needed laundry, so we were up and hiking already before 07:30!

Or well, at least if it wasn't fully booked, which we had no idea if it would be. We saw so many people on the trail now, all the SOBOs that we had started meeting, maybe they were thinking the same thing?

But thankfully the trail was great today, we could just walk faster and faster and very soon we could see the road.

Here, just before the road, we got reception. Lukas video called Mauritz. He was working late so that's why he was awake. At home there is a lot of snow which feels so strange for us now with full-blown summer here. Before quitting the video call he went for a swim in a beautiful gorge under the footbridge before the car park. Then Kim caught up and we could continue.

We powered through the road walk and arrived in Boyle at noon. Jan started to hitch right away and we went up to Boyle River Outdoor Education and picked up our resupply box and a booked one night there. We got a cottage for ourselves, with our own kitchen, bathroom, washing machine etc. Bunk beds, but that's fine! We ended up sharing the same bunk anyway :)

After showering and doing laundry it was time for Kim to throw her old shirt and her old bra, and change into the new ones. It felt so good to finally have clothes with no holes in them!

Then we went to the reception to order two pizzas and buy some snacks and salami. They were nice, so nice that we ended up going back to buy another one 😂 Lukas also got two beers that had been gifted from another TA hiker that had to quit the trail.

In the evening we also noticed that one of our water bottles were missing. No idea how it could disappear, and last time we remembered having it was at breakfast this morning.

We sent a message to a hiker behind us, asking if he could look for it, but he didn't see it either. Hopefully we didn't leave trash somewhere along the trail... Hopefully someone took it and brought it to throw in the trash...

After doing some blog updates and talking more to some friends, it was finally time to go to bed.

Today's:
