TA Day 73

TA Day 73: Saturday 1 March 2025
Palmerston North - Feilding
Slow morning today, but we weren't walking far so that was perfectly fine.
Left at 10 in the morning "as usual" when we stay inside. On our way to the store we talked to Kim's parents.
We bought most of, but not all of, the food that we would need the upcoming three days to Whanganui. We also sat down outside and had breakfast. A very random breakfast with lots of different things - like fruit and pie.
The trail was an easy hike along farmlands beside the road and not so much on the road. Only a short section was on the road itself. But plenty of stiles to cross (and our knees, especially Kim's complained and almost buckled each time).
The only more proper break that we had today was outside a small dairy. Here we had some ice cream before we kept going.
Once we arrived in Feilding, had managed to withdraw some more cash and buy some more food/snacks, we contacted a trail angel in Feilding called Debbie who, just as we had pre-arranged, picked us up and drove us home to her.
She and her husband took really good care of us while we were there. We were invited to have dinner with them, and then we went to have a warm shower. And after that we were even given cake and ice cream. What! And they didn't want anything from us either so we felt like we couldn't thank them enough.
All in all a very lovely day!
