Access Road No 3 - Owhango

We tried to get up early and start a similar time as yesterday. Worked alright. Our amazing "private shuttle team" dropped us off where we finished walking the day before. There was a drizzle/light rain, but Lukas was excited to finally get to try his new umbrella! He had ordered it to Kim's parents in Sweden some time ago, and now they had brought it here.

The first 12 km was on a muddy ATV track with thorns and bushes hanging over the trail, grabbing us and giving Lukas a hard time with the umbrella. Luckily the ATV track transformed to a 4WD-track with less bushes. Now the umbrella was perfect.

After some time we passed a huge slip were several hundred metres of the road was gone. We could walk over it, but it required some focus from Kim and taking it really slow. Once we were safe on the other side we walked a little bit longer, then decided to have our lunch stop.

It had stopped raining for some time, but of course it started again when we decided to have lunch. By the time we left we were both cold and wet, and it took longer than expected to warm up again.

For the last part a gravel road lay ahead, and we put in a podcast and just walked. Around 20:00 we reached Owhango, where our private shuttle team was already waiting for us.

Today we had booked a whole house on Airbnb for the following two nights. Here Kim finished the evening by first taking a nice bath, then we joined in on the dinner.
