Via Evertsberg

Wow, was it hard to motivate myself this morning. I woke to the rain literally pouring down outside, which I knew that it would, but it was still demotivating. As I sat inside, listening to the rain touching the roof, I decided to change my plans. The original plan was to walk far today, all the way to Prästskogskojan, which would be almost 35 km, and then have a shorter day for Friday. Now I thought that why not do the opposite? Wait out the rain today, and walk short, and then just walk on like crazy tomorrow.
So that's what I did.
Around noon, the rain had stopped and I was ready to get going. The air felt fresh, and it was very calm outside.
Some km in, after Kalvtjärnen shelter, I reached a road. Here the signs were a bit confusing, so I decided to take the Via Suecia-route. I quickly found myself walking through a wet bog (Ryssmyren), with no orange markings or footbridges (which they'd had a lot of before), so I figured I was walking along the ski tracks and not the hiking trail. So I took a forest road on my right towards the big asphalt road, and here found a dirt road alongside, that was made for hiking and biking. It was not on my map though! Really confusing, but glad I found it. Too bad my feet got really wet and sad again though.
Finally, I reached Evertsberg. Here I decided to try out their store that they had here. Really cool, and I hope there will come more stores like this. I downloaded an app called LIFVS, in which I registered myself and my bank card. Through the app, I opened the door to the store and walked inside. Picked a few things to buy (Mannafrutti and ice cream), scanned them in the app, payed through the app, opened the door again in the app and walked outside. Really convenient! After eating what I'd bought, I got another discount, so I went inside the store again to use this 😂 But now I bought some chocolate to bring with me as I continued further.
Today I also passed a house where a man, working on his property, said hi to me. He was impressed with me and my long hike, this was in my mind for a while.
I also used my phone while walking to pass the time, and found some geocache. Just when I had about 500 m or so left to Axikojan, and was looking for my last geocache, my phone died. I dug out my powerbank to charge my phone... But after charging 3% it stopped. Crap. I had not realised my powerbank was so empty already.
I swore to myself about my stupidity as realisation hit. I had everything in my phone. My map, my means of communication, it was the way for me to pass time and to look for geocaches. Freaking great. But as with everything else while hiking, you just have to suck it up and solve the problem!
So I walked over to the hut, packed up my sleeping gear, prepared dinner, filtered some water to have for tomorrow, cleaned my feet etc. I also sent out a message to Lukas on my Garmin Inreach so he would know I was out of battery. Then it was time to go to bed.
