TS Day 78-79
TS Day 78-79
Rest day, then
Via Sollerön, Åsen
Saturday 25 September 2021 - Sunday 26 September 2021
On Saturday I slept really bad again, and woke up several times completely drenched in swett. But after getting up and getting a shower, I was already back in paradise.
I spent the whole day with Liv and Lukas. We had a nice breakfast, went to town to buy food and snacks (geez, I've never seen so many people since before starting hiking, maybe even pre-Covid! It was insane!), washed my hair, washed my clothes, had fika several times, ate a huuuge nice salad, had take-out, had another wonderful massage, watched a movie etc. This day meant so, so much for me!
On Sunday I slept better, but stayed up half night to plan the coming route etc. We got fairly early, had breakfast and started cleaning and packing. We also had time for another game, and I also ate some ice cream. Then at 11 AM it was finally time to get going and check out. I had a really emotional goodbye, and I couldn't help but start crying. Lukas and Liv tried their best to cheer me up, but dang, saying goodbye is hard when you know you have to be alone for another week again.
But eventually I got going, and today I didn't follow Via, Suecia much because I was geocaching my way through the day. I walked through Mora, took a few geocaches, passed Utmeland and Vinäs through the bigger roads, and then started walking towards Sollerön. This road was sooo boring and full of fast-driving cars. After what felt like an eternity I got off the big road and walked along a forest road and dirt road past the golf course. I then walked on another small road through Gesunda, past Långtora (didn't feel like going up to that mountain, Ekorrberget), and came to Mångberg. By now I was getting pretty tired and my body had been protesting all day with weird pains in my feet etc, but now I had a pain in my lower back/hip as well.
I continued through Mångberg which was really pretty, and met two women. They were really impressed with me hiking (they didn't know how far I'd been hiking) from Mora! And that I'd go past Åsen and sleep in a tent. One of them invited me to her house to fill my water bottle and use the bathroom. It was so very, very kind of her. I assured her that was all I needed - I had after all just resupplied in Mora, and then I got going again. Very happy from the strangers' kindness!
After this I just walked on and on. I finally reached Svarttjärnen as it was about to get dark. Here I filled some more water, but finding a tent spot proved hard. I tried on the road, but the ground was too hard so I couldn't get my tent stakes down. I then found a spot in the forest. It was very bumpy, and the tent barely stood up, but it had to make do. And I crawled in, had a phone call with my mum, and then fell asleep before I could even change completely into my sleeping clothes.
