TS Day 92-93

TS Day 92-93

Rest day, then

Sixtorp - Mosjön shelter

Via Ängatorp, Hasselfors

Saturday 9 October 2021 - Sunday 10 October 2021

I hadn't slept very well tonight, but I was glad to be where I was, and going up and having a nice and long breakfast with Lukas and Micke was lovely! I ate soooo much watermelon! 😀

Some time after 10 AM my (paternal) grandparents and Liv came over! I was so glad to see them again, and we sat down and talked a whole lot. We then drove to Köping to have lunch together, at a place called Skeppshandeln Café & Bistro. It was nice, but also a bit weird for me, with so many people around - the café was rather crowded.

After the lunch we headed back to Micke's place, and had some fika together. My grandparents and Liv had brought cinnamon rolls from our dear friend Helena - who hiked with us Abisko-Ritsem this summer, so now we had a huuuuge cinnamon roll feast eating both Helena's and Micke's cinnamon rolls. Also, a cake that Lukas had brought from the birthday party he attended last Sunday. Our landlord turned 85! And still going strong 😎💪🏻

I also helped my sister Liv a bit with Math ❤️

We then spent some more time with my grandparents before they went back home again. They also had their puppy Axxa with them! She's grown so much since I visited them back in June!

When they went back home, we played some games together and had some more fika - ice cream. When I was sitting in the sofa, the guys decided to put all the ice cream in my lap, and on my head and take a photo of me 😂 I was so uncomfortable.

We also had a lot of candy and snacks that evening, and we had so much we decided to just skip dinner. By the end of the day we were all feeling quite tired and nauseous. But I was happy I got to spend the weekend with amazing company!

The next morning, I woke up when Micke went up to go to work. Before he left, he hugged me and Lukas goodbye. Lukas and I then slept some more before finally getting up. I then went to pack my stuff and have breakfast. I think the clock was around 8 or so when we woke Liv up, saying we had to go. About half past 8 or so, we were finally ready to leave and Lukas began to drive me the whole way back to the trail. We talked a lot on the way there, and it felt tough to have to leave again. We hugged goodbye, as always very emotional, before they started heading home again. I was alone on trail again, doing what I always did - just walked.

Walking went fine, the entire weekend I had been thinking about what route I should take, but didn't know. Now I finally decided to not take Bergslagsleden, but instead just walk along roads on the eastern side of lake Multen. It was no problem except for south of Ängatorp, where I didn't find the path so I just walked through the forest, and I immediately had wet shoes and socks again. And it was unnecessarily tough, but when I finally was through, it was just me and the road again.

When I got closer to road 204, I had to make up my mind. Pass Toften on the western or eastern side. I finally decided to pass it on the Eastern side, which would make me have to roadwalk more, but it would be a lot shorter. In hindsight, a good idea! After passing Bäcklunda I took a break and since it had been really warm and sunny today (😱) I took off my rain pants and wore just shorts! I have barely seen the sun for so long, so it's just amazing that it was this warm.

From Bäcklunda to Hasselfors I followed a bigger road, but it wasn't that trafficked so it was okay. In Hasselfors I took a break again. I refilled my water bottle at a churchyard that I passed, took some photos of the really pretty church, and then sat down on a bench. I had noticed that my filter bottle had started leaking, so I found the whole and put a piece of tape across it for the time being. From Hasselfors almost down to Laxå, I followed a dirt road that felt like it would never end. This was really boring to walk on but made me come to today's goal a bit faster. The worst part was that I had to follow road 205 for about 1 km or so, from Ågrena to Backen. It was quite trafficked, and the cars drove really fast here. I was so glad when I was finally off the big road!

Then I just walked for some more km until I reached the shelter by Mosjön. The shelter had a huge opening and had a high roof, but seemed nice. It was just a bit tricky refilling my water bottle here because the water was so low, otherwise the spot was great. I found a geocache, had dinner, and as always, the moment I crawled into my sleeping bag, I fell asleep.
