GB Day 54

GB Day 54:

Today we managed something we normally fail with... We got up early! We ate the sandwiches we got from Stig for breakfast, which was great because we were almost out of breakfast and we could eat them while walking. We kept walking along the dirt road, passed Västsjön and onwards. The most interesting thing that happened this morning was that a car came by just as we were beside a boom barrier. We opened it up and Lukas asked if he lived in the area. He just said that he was hunting and that there was hunting going on in the area so we should be careful. We already knew about this, but by the tone of his voice, we got the feeling he was a little bit bitter. We continued, and took just a short stop before continuing. At Rörtjärnen we stopped again though, because we saw a bag - and then a face, that we recognised. A face we didn't think we'd see again! Andreas had camped there together with Helena and Jonas apparently, who had also camped there, but left about half an hour earlier.

We decided to walk together, and did so until lunch. During the time we walked together we once passed a stretch where we needed to basically orient ourselves through the forest. From the end of one road, to the start of another one. It worked out fine, but was wet, and crossed some bogs.

When we had lunch, we had it by the side of the road, where there was running water nearby. After lunch, Andreas wanted to keep a faster pace, so here we went separate ways again, and now we definitely won't meet again.

We were thinking about going all the way to Sölvesved today, because it was going to be really windy tomorrow. But we were going to stay at our friend Elise's place, and we didn't know whether she could pick us up already today or not. But we decided to call and ask her, so we'd know if it was even worth it to try, and she could!

So we continued through the forest and up and down through a somewhat hilly landscape until we finally reached the road in Sölvesved. Here Elise was waiting for us, and we were so glad to see her!

We went with her back to her parents' house, where our depot box that we'd sent to her was waiting for us. For dinner we made falafel and mashed potatoes. Elise and Kim also made some yoghurt-based sauce we could eat with it, as well as vegetables. Then we were all really tired, so we got up and went to sleep.
