GB Day 65
GB Day 65:
Via Rogen, Storrödtjärn
Sunday 12 September 2021
During the night, both of us woke up by the downpour as the raining increased. In the morning we had breakfast with roof above our heads, before starting again.
Today it went a lot slower, and today, we did indeed understand what people meant with Rogen being rocky, because this section sure was.
Finally we reached Rogen cabin, where we stopped to buy some food and also have our lunch inside. We had a delicious Carbonara with tortellini!
We then continued. Everything was wet, rocky and muddy, so we made slow progress.
When we got up on Tandsjövålen we finally got some views! Here we met a nice man (German?) with a cute dog that we patted.
After this, it started getting colder and as we got closer to Storrödtjärn, it suddenly got very windy. At the cabin we used the privy in shifts, warmed us a little inside and talked to the cabin host and the guests. Kim talked to the cabin host about Gröna Bandet and Lukas met the cabin host from Njunjes (back in August) and her dog. The dog which paw prints we had seen along the trail for a few days.
We then continued the last bit to Slagusjön, hoping that the hut would be empty but unfortunately wasn't. Two German men were inside and had made a fire. But we managed to pitch our tent in a fairly good spot behind the hut, close to another tent with too German girls. Even though it was windy, we managed quite well to pitch it which impressed us both.
We then had dinner in the hut before heading out to the tent to have a last cozy night together in it before reaching our shared goal the next day.
