NPL Day 102
Day 102: Tuesday 26 September 2023
Haukeliseter-Såvistjønnane via Vågsli
We started the day with a hotel breakfast 😍 Long time since last time, and we haven't had so many during this hike. So we sat there for a really long time, and ate more and more until we couldn't eat anymore without getting nauseous or something. While we were there we also tried to catch up on the blog and on Instagram before continuing our hike.
After the tough days on the mountain we had decided to do some road walking. We had nice weather and the sun was shining. The E134 wasn't very nice to walk on, but there were some side roads we could take some now and then, so it was okay. During the road walking we also made some phone calls which was nice!
In the late afternoon we took off on a gravel road and followed it up a hill towards a dam wall. Then it was time to take off on a path that was a path on the map but not so much in reality... It was barely even visible. Lukas did his best to navigate while talking on the phone with his sister, and Kim tried to catch up. The mood was not great.
We kept hiking up and up, until we finally were above the tree line and then it got a liiiittle bit easier to walk. But the ground was full of moss covered rocks and really uneven, and we started to worry that we wouldn't find a good tent spot as it was now getting dark. But all of a sudden, we found flat ground, exactly the size of our tent that wasn't covered with rocks and not too uneven. We immediately pitched our tent. The sun had set and when we were done, it was quite dark. So it was really a stroke of luck.
