Day 94: Monday 18 September 2023

Zero day, Bjordalsbu - due to bad weather

It had been a while since we had slept as good as we did this night.

At first today, we hadn't decided if we were going to stay or continue. According to the saved weather forecast that we had on our phones, it was going to be better some time during the middle of the day. So we were not in a hurry. Two Czechs were also staying the night there, but they wanted to continue because they wanted to reach Finse and maybe visit Bergen before heading home.

We watched the fog increase, and every time we went out to the toilet we thought to ourselves that maybe it would be nicer to stay after all... The wind would be blowing straight in our faces and carry with it some rain too. Not very nice... Also the terrain was pure rocks - not Kim's favourite terrain.

We watched the Czechs leave, then discussed what we should do. In the end, we decided to stay with Mari. We had the fire going and it was so nice and calm. We didn't know that we needed a day off this badly. We spent the afternoon eating food, playing cards and talk... Just took it easy and had a good time. It really was nice to wait out the storm.
