NPL Day 98

Day 98: Friday 22 September 2023

Finsehytta-Kjeldebu

We didn't start very early, as per usual, but the plan was still to go a long distance today. We bought a big bun again this morning to eat as "pre breakfast snack" on the trail. The weather was really nice with sun and the trail was good. After a few km we stopped to eat the bun, then we continued a little further before stopping by a creek to have breakfast. We were happy and enjoyed the sun. It was also a "shorts day" again, after many days with a lot of clothes. It felt a bit strange, but very freeing.

Some time after the breakfast, the trail got more complicated between the good parts, and we even crossed the corner of a glacier or a big patch of snow which was a bit steep... On the verge of being too steep for Kim. After this, Kim got more and more annoyed and irritated, as the terrain got worse and worse. Muddy and slippery, and Kim fell twice! The last hours felt like forever and we were getting tired. But we finally arrived to the hut just before dawn. There, a couple of Belgium guys were staying. They had a fire going and nice, cozy music in the background. We had some dinner in the hut, and soon went to bed.
