TA Day 63

TA Day 63: Wednesday 19 February 2025

Awarua Street Station - Porirua Station

As you might have guessed... We woke up at 7 in the morning by the construction noise again.

After breakfast we took the train back to where we ended the trail yesterday. Or well, almost, as there was a replacement bus instead.

We immediately walked up to a trail called Skyline Walkway. There was sooo much wind up there that it was sometimes hard to stand up.

Up at the top we met a nice kiwi going SOBO. We stopped there and talked to him for some time, as it was a while since we met other hikers now.

After some time we managed to find a place on the other side of the mountain that was slightly ledd windy. Here we had lunch and had a great time, recording some audio as well. After lunch, a delicious lunch with fresh vegetables, chicken and pesto, we came down to a road. This road passed a looot of horses and paddocks.

The last hours of today's trail didn't have much interesting to see so the last bit felt little bit boring. But finally we arrived in Porirua and took the first train back. Back in wellington we shared a pizza at Scopa - actually the best pizza on the entire hike so far, and then a milkshake from Duck Island which was so good! And ice cream in a box that we brought with us back to our hostel rooms. We watched TV series and had ice cream and other snacks well until is was way too late and we had to go to bed.
